All the old cats of Ashclan make their den within a small dip in the earth, surrounded by a wall of thorn bushes. A bed of lichens grows here and serves as a resting place for the elder's weary bones, and extra moss can also be brought in if added comfort is needed. While otherwise plain in appearance Ashclan elders prefer function over form any day.
